During the last thirty plus years Bruce has had the privilege of working alongside many great and talented engineers, working with them, learning from them and sharing with them. whether it has been in the live sound arena or great recording studios, Bruce has loved to “pass it on”.
during this time Bruce has become passionate about training and loves to share his knowledge and experience with others.
here are three main areas that Bruce offers training:
1/ one to one training in live sound and general recording.
Sharing his skills and experience he has learned along the way, Bruce offers an easy going yet informative one to one training sessions.
2/ Seminars and lectures.
Bruce has been involved at many events over the years and has been asked to run PA training seminars at these events ( spring harvest, new wine, etc. ) . He brings a wealth of experience and practical knowledge in an easy going format, which makes these seminars easy to understand and fun! the seminars he offers range from an hour and half to a full day.
Bruce has been involved with various groups and organisations to offer lecturing in live and recording sound. he has come in as guest lecturer on several occasions, to provide practical and real world experience to training organisations.
3/ Training weekends in sound and worship.
This has become a speciality and passion, sharing with churches a passion for excellence and service. To create a unified vision of a worship team, from sound advice to team building. working with the sound team the musicians and leadership.
Bruce offers, not just a technical outlook to training, but a holistic one. taking into to account where the worship team is coming from and going to, in and easy and rich style of presentation. the weekend is for all members, from techies new and old, musos and leaders and even treasurers!
the weekend involves getting to know the team and the churches PA rig on the Friday (followed by a curry!). then three sessions on the Saturday.
1/ technical overview of church sound
2/ practical church sound
3/ worship group session.
On the Sunday we put together what we have learned from the previous day into practice. followed after the service by an appraisal.
these events have been very popular because Bruce not only comes from a technical background but also brings a spirituality and worshiper’s heart to these sessions.
