Bruce Pont has been involved in professional sound recording for over thirty years.
In 1992 he joined ICC Studios as a house engineer.He stayed on staff for seven and a half years becoming chief engineer and studio manager.
Since 2000 Bruce became a freelance engineer, as well as a producer, consultant and a training advisor.
He divides his time between recording, live work and consulting. During this time he has worked with most of the UK christian record companies;
Kingsway, Survivor records, Elevation music, Integrity, Authentic media, Galaxy records and several independent record companies and artists.
Bruce has been involved in hundreds of recording projects over the years as an engineer and as a producer. He works on a wide variety of projects from;
Live recording (a particular speciality)
Studio projects include;
Rock/alt rock/indie rock. Worship, from contemporary to traditional. Children's projects. Jazz from trios, big band and contemporary, Folk resembles, Singer songwriters.
Classical from chamber to symphonic and choral.
Dance from hardcore techno to ambient electronica and remix work.
(Bruce also produces his own electronica under the name “saffron lounge”)
Bruce has worked on various international projects from live recording, studio projects and film mixes.
Bruce has been the recipient of two “christian album of the year” awards and was involved in the internationally acclaimed “Mandate” albums.
Bruce has a wide experience with all aspects of recording and recording formats, from 16 track 2” analogue to full on Protools.(Bruce has his own studio called the saffron room).
Bruce is an “old school” engineer with forward thinking ideas, from the sublime to the near insane. He loves working with artists to fulfil their true potential. Being a team player, he loves working in partnership with other producers, engineers and musicians, not forgetting the record execs!
Bruce will bring with him a wealth of experience and a wide ranging and comprehensive love of music. from an early background in classical music to being a drummer, percussionist and programer, with a panoramic and eclectic taste in music styles.
He has a reputation in the trade as a “safe pair of hands” and has garnered the trust of many record companies and artists over a long career.
Bruce brings with him a huge knowledge of the christian music scene, having worked with practically all the major worship leaders and bands in the UK.
Bruce also comes with personal contacts with most of the leading christian record companies, charities, bands, worship leaders and movers and shakers in the UK christian scene.
